News: New: manage your IP block registration in the client area
You can now manage your IP block's public registration yourself, right in the client area. Check what the internet sees, update your address in seconds, and skip the support ticket.
ARIN, the internet registry for Canada and the United States, requires every block of 8 or more addresses to be registered to the business or person using it. That registration is what shows up when anyone looks up one of your addresses (a WHOIS lookup), so other networks can see who uses an address and who to contact about it. Until now, changing it meant asking us. Now you can do it yourself.
What you can do
- See your registration at a glance. The name and address on file, with a direct link to your public record at ARIN.
- Update your address in seconds. Moved? Save the new address and it's at ARIN a few seconds later. A new name is reviewed by our team first.
- Keep it private at home. Static IPs at home for personal use? Choose a private listing, which ARIN allows for residential customers, and WHOIS shows "Private Customer" instead of your name and address.
- Get help with every field. Our new guide, Your IP address block and its ARIN registration, explains what to enter and what ARIN requires.
Where to find it
Sign in, go to Services, open your IP Address Block service and click Registration details.
Take a minute to check yours
Most blocks are already registered using the details on your account. Have a look and make sure the name and address are right, especially if you've moved or changed your business name.
Need static IPs for your business, or a bigger block? Ask us about adding one.
