News: Major Upgrades to Our Email System

We've been hard at work behind the scenes, and we're excited to share a major round of improvements to our email system. The short version: your email is now faster, more reliable, far better protected from spam and viruses, and easier to use across every device you own. Here's what's new and why it matters to you.

Smarter Spam and Virus Protection

Every message sent to you now passes through our mail gateway cluster before it ever reaches your inbox. This is a group of three dedicated, redundant filtering servers whose only job is to inspect incoming mail for spam, viruses, phishing scams, and malicious attachments. Together they handle well over 25,000 messages a day for our email customers.

• Always on - because filtering runs across three gateways, if one is busy or offline the other two keep your email flowing without missing a beat.
• Layered defense - we stop the genuinely dangerous mail (viruses, scams, phishing, and infected attachments) at the gateway, then apply a second, smarter layer of spam scoring as each message is delivered to your mailbox.
• Freshly tuned filters - we recently retuned our spam filtering so that obvious junk is blocked automatically, borderline messages are sorted into your Junk folder where you can review them, and the legitimate mail you actually want keeps landing in your inbox.

A Modern Email Platform

Our hosted email now runs on a modern, industry-standard cPanel platform. This is a significant leap forward from the older mail server many of you were on, and the difference shows.

• Faster and more reliable - newer hardware and a modern mail engine mean quicker delivery and far less downtime.
• 15 GB of storage per mailbox - a 50% increase over the 10 GB you had before, so there's plenty of room to keep the mail that matters without constantly clearing things out.
• Webmail anywhere - check your email from any web browser, on any computer, at webmail.incentre.net, with nothing to install.
• Self-service control - create and manage mailboxes, forwarders, auto-responders, and passwords yourself, any time you need to.

Your Email on Every Device, In Sync

We now fully support IMAP. Unlike the older style of email that downloaded messages to a single computer and left your other devices out of step, IMAP keeps everything in sync. Your phone, tablet, laptop, and webmail all show the same inbox, the same folders, and the same read and unread messages. Read an email on your phone and it shows as read on your laptop too. File a message into a folder once and it's there everywhere.

Stronger Account Security

• Encrypted connections everywhere - your mail is sent and received over secure, encrypted SSL/TLS connections, so it can't be read in transit.
• Stronger password requirements - mailbox passwords must now meet modern strength requirements, which keeps your account, your contacts, and your reputation safer from compromise.
• Automatic brute-force protection - repeated failed login attempts are detected and blocked automatically, so attackers can't sit there guessing your password.

What You Need to Do
